Research Projects
Biomechanics of Lacrosse Faceoffs
During my last year of undergrad, I was able to create and work with Melissa Vigil on a wrist injury prevention project. Out goal was to address common injuries that were noticed in Lacrosse's faceoff position.
Forensic Analysis with Metro State University
While attending community college full time as a high school student, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Filbin-Wong and Cesar Garcia on a blood analysis research project. We then presented out findings at the 2017 Metro State Undergraduate Research Conference.
Laser Safety in Sports Rehabilitation
Marquette University's athletic training department uses a class 4 near IR laser for rehab. After using a similarly graded laser for physics research, I asked my professor (Dr. Jax Sanders) about the difference in safety protocols. This led to us co authoring a paper aiming to promote a safer environment in training facilities.
Plant Spectroscopy
Through a National Science Foundation Grant, I worked with Dr. Paul Laris and Scott Winslow from California State University Long Beach. We spent 4 weeks camping in the Sierra Nevada mountain range using Drones (sUAS's) to take spectral data of a California Riparian Zone. That was then used with a Supervised Classification system I built to differentiate plant species.
Tracking Species using G.I.S. in Costa Rica
During my sophomore year, I traveled to Bahia Ballena-Uvita, Costa Rica and worked on a Geographic Information Systems project for 2 weeks with professor and mentor Amy Work.
